If you're looking for a space that feels like a soft exhale — and fairytale this is it.
San Sebastián Hotel in Zipolite wasn’t just a place to stay. It felt like I walked into the ultimate sketch book of fantasy and whimsy. Nestled in the heart of one of Mexico's most unapologetically free beach towns, the hotel is open, warm, and refreshingly down-to-earth.
From the second I arrived, I felt my creative juices flowing. The staff greeted me in the way you want the cool kids who had tattoos in high school would greet you. Calm, Confident and stylish. My room had this perfect mix of billowy softness and rustic calmness — wooden finishes, soft light, and the kind of bed you melt into. Also, full points for the outdoor patio (if you know, you know).
Days started slow. The sunset coming in through my room made every evening feel romantic. Think fresh coffee, the sound of waves, and that golden morning light caressing your body. One of my favorite memories? Floating in their clothing-optional pool at sunset, surrounded by other travelers all on their own little journeys. The energy here is sacred. It’s queer-friendly without feeling performative — just real and welcoming.
I spent my days exploring Zipolite’s beaches, grabbing fresh coconut water from stands, and coming back to San Sebastián to reset. At night, it transforms into a party hotel with the best DJ's flown in from around the world.
If you find yourself in Zipolite and want somewhere that reflects the town's softness, sensuality, and soul — San Sebastián should be on your list.
Quick Recap:
Vibe: Earthy, modern, soft luxury
Best Moment: Sunset in the upstairs main room
Who It’s For: Queer travelers, solo soul-seekers, or anyone craving calm
More from my Zipolite trip coming soon — including food recs and my favorite late-night bar stop ;) Stay tuned.
